Pinking scissors for precise cutting from Kretzer Solingen
Great for daily industrial use, tailor shops, and dressmakers
Unlike straight blades, the blades of pinking scissors are serrated. They leave a zigzag pattern instead of a straight edge.
These pinked scissors are useful for neatly cutting woven fabrics. The edges of unfinished fabrics fray easily, the weave becomes unraveled, and the threads come loose easily. The sawtooth pattern does not prevent fraying, but it limits the length of the frayed thread and thus reduces damage.
These scissors can also be used for decorative cuts, and many designs (such as arcs, sawtooth of different aspect ratios, or asymmetrical teeth) are available. However, you should not use real dressmaker's pinking shears to cut paper, as the paper dulls their sharpness.
